Qumox… Great memory at a reasonable price.

Mon 25 May 2015

I still use a couple of systems that require DDR 2 memory. The first of which is my secondary PC. This originally had 2GB of Samsung memory installed by the OEM as the system was designed for Vista and when I got it second hand, was installed with XP so 2GB of RAM was perfectly acceptable. However, for my needs I had to install Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 so 2GB really wasn’t going to cut it, I decided to invest in an extra DIMM to bring it up to 4GB. After looking at the price of DDR2 DIMMs and seeing how much the price rises as soon as a new memory standard becomes common I stumbled upon Qumox memory. This seems to be very reliable RAM at a reasonable price. Qumox products are sold by various sellers so be sure to check the sellers ratings to air on the side of caution. I have today ordered 2 of the same DIMM that is installed in my second PC to bring my rather underpowered server up from 1GB to 4GB. It will be interesting to find out how this budget RAM copes with being in use 24/7 but otherwise Qumox seem to make high quality products but keep to a reasonable price by selling products direct from China with very little advertising.

Just a side note, if you buy Qumox products and they turn out to be awful I will not take any responsibility.
